AT&T Problem

Hi, This is Akira Muramatsu.
I moved in Orange County, Southern California from Bay Area since I've got a new job here. I moved in the apartment and tried to get a home phone and internet service from AT&T. But it's just a beginning of the terrible story...
Here is the whole story of my AT&T home phone and internet service problem.
Since I'm an IT engineer, it is so inconvenient that I can't use internet home.

4/2 Applied AT&T home phone and internet service.
4/4 Moved in the apartment in Irvine.
4/10 Called AT&T because the DSL modem was not delivered. The AT&T staff found some mistake in his side and rescheduled to deliver the modem.
4/15 Got modem. But I found that there are no dial tone and DSL signals in the line.
4/16 Called AT&T to fix the problem but the AT&T staff told me that if The problem is in the AT&T's facility, it's free. But if the problem is in my apartment's facility, it costs $55. So I called the leasing office of my apartment to check if the problem is not in my apartment's side.
4/20 Got a call from the leasing office that there is no problem with the apartment's facility and they told me to call AT&T to fix the problem.
I called AT&T and got an apointment that the tech staff of AT&T came fix the problem. I told the leasing office to get the AT&T into my room to fix the problem because I was not home for working at my company at that time .

4/21 Got a call from tech staff of AT&T that he fixed the problem, it should work(should???). At that time I was in the office and told him that I checked it when I got home. After work, I checked if I could use home phone and internet, But I COULDN'T.......

4/22 Called AT&T to cancel the service. The staff was trying to get the disconnect fee from me even though I coudn't use their service AT ALL.
4/23 I sent the DSL modem back to AT&T.

It took 20 days since I applied AT&T home phone and internet service. But it's still not available. I'm exausted of those things.
It was so painfull. I talked with my collegues about this problem and he had a same problem. He did same thing as me. called AT&T and leasing office, tried to find out what the problem is by himself.

AT&T told us that the customer's satisfaction is their #1 priority but actually it's not.
I'm so disappointed with their service. That's just the waste of time for 3 weeks!!!
